Save Laura Fergusson
My niece Sophia Malthus is one of the bravest people I know. She is a tetraplegic as a result of a workplace accident. Laura Fergusson was where she spent a lot of time rehabilitating, learning how to live at home again, eat, be more independent. That’s why I was so upset to hear that this vital home in Epsom, Auckland was being shut down.
Radio New Zealand and NZ Herald have done some stories on this. See below.
Since the stories have gone on air and details of the Official Information search RNZ did have become public, many people, former clients, family members and staff have come forward to raise their concerns.
As you will read the Directors have served lengthy terms, there has been no openness, discussion let alone consultation with those affected.
It would be a tragedy for Auckland, for New Zealand if this facility is allowed to fold. Perhaps it needs a different approach. Please consider joining up to be a member of the Laura Fergusson Trust.
